Subject Duplicating a single "set" of requests for many users

It was also explicitly requested by Jane Livingston. She was talking about a "bundling" that would gather related requests together into one group.

There's a separate concept in ServiceNow where you can order multiples of the same item. For example, the pager order form (as-is in START, and to-be) has a quantity option when ordering group pagers.

And finally there is a quantity button possible in the cart when checking out. We've been disabling it, because it's a multiplier on exactly how something is ordered. Since most of our items have the concept of a single owner, it doesn't make sense for Joe Smith to have twelve cell phones or eight email accounts.

I think what people really want is the ability to have two chaining technologies. One bundles the related items into a single cohesive place, the other allows them to provide a list of names and walk away while the system does the rest.

The first isn't as hard as the second. And the second is easier if the first is already done. So there are the two phases to get that technology working. I built something similar to the second for a previous organization. People could upload a CSV (Excel) that was well formatted with the criteria that had been agreed upon, and the system took care of fulfillment after that. It was very popular with people who needed to onboard ten or twenty or 150 people at the same time.

I have to say that this would be useful to a class of people, but it's a feature request I think should wait in line until the remainder of the bulk of the project is done. Building the system for one person is certainly the base functionality we need first.

This has always been one of the nagging things people asked for in START. Example – I am on boarding 5 DSP contactors and want to "order" the same thing for them.

I don’t know if this came up the BOLT meeting, but this is something the school of medicine, who often on boards staff in waves surrounding new grants, has asked for for years.

I don't know if we were planning to build this in, if not, Christine, put this feature set on the burner for e-Services
