Spinup Quick Start Guide
Follow these simple steps to start using Spinup, Yale's self-service cloud platform, in no time!
1. Log in to Spinup
Visit https://spinup.internal.yale.edu/ in your web browser
Log in with your Yale NetID and password
2. Create a Space
Click on the "Create New Space" button
Provide a name for your Space (remember: no spaces or special characters)
Choose the appropriate security classification (Low, Moderate, or High)
Select the associated Business Contact and Department
If needed, enter the COA string for billing purposes
Click "Create Space" to finalize
3. Provision a Resource
Navigate to your newly created Space
Click the "Create" button and select the desired resource type (Server, Database, Storage, etc.)
Configure your resource by specifying the name, size, and other relevant settings
Review your configuration and click "Create" to provision the resource
4. Access Your Resource
Web Interface: Navigate to your Space and click on the provisioned resource
SSH (Servers): Obtain the server's IP address and your SSH key, then connect via SSH
5. Configure Security
Firewalls: Modify firewall rules to allow specific traffic as needed
SSL: Enable SSL for secure web connections to your applications
Public Access: Request public access for applications that need to be accessible from the internet
