Reporting Bugs in Spinup

At Spinup, we strive to provide a reliable and bug-free platform for the Yale community. However, despite our best efforts, users may occasionally encounter issues (bugs) while using Spinup. If you come across a bug, please let us know so that we can investigate and resolve the issue promptly.

How to Report a Bug

To report a bug to the Spinup team, you can use one of the following methods:

  1. Email: Send a detailed description of the issue to spinup@yale.edu.

  2. Slack: Leave a message in the #spinup channel on the Yale Slack workspace at https://yale.slack.com.

  3. Service Now: Create a ticket in Service Now and select "Spinup Self-Service" as the service offering.

What to Include in Your Bug Report

To help the Spinup team investigate and address the issue effectively, please provide as much detail as possible in your bug report. Include the following information:

  1. Browser: Specify the web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and version you were using when the bug occurred.

  2. Operating System: Indicate the operating system (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and version you were using.

  3. Steps to Reproduce: Describe the steps you were taking when the bug occurred, including what you were trying to accomplish.

  4. Screenshots: If possible, include screenshots or screen recordings that demonstrate the issue, as visual aids can be extremely helpful in understanding and resolving bugs.

  5. Additional Information: Provide any other relevant information that might assist the Spinup team in reproducing and addressing the issue, such as error messages, unexpected behavior, or specific resource details.
