Creating Brio OCE
An OCE (Open Catalog Extension) is a series of commands telling the operating system who you are and which database you want to use. The OCE resides on the individual user's desktop. To set up a Banner OCE:
Open Hyperion System 9 BrioQuery using YAMS and Student Administrative Applications
In the Welcome dialog box, select A New Database Connection File and
Click on OK at the bottom of the dialog box.
Choose the settings
Oracle Net
and
Oracle
Click on Next at the bottom of the dialog box.
Enter your NetID, Banner password, and Host (database) as if you were logging into Banner forms.
Click on Next button at the bottom of the dialog box.
Click on Finish at the bottom of the next dialog box.
Click on Yes to question, "Do you want to save your
OCE?
Enter the name of the OCE (usually ban1 or the appropriate database). Ban1, ban1, and BAN1 are all OK. Save .OCE into Open Catalog Extensions directory.
You will be taken to a blank Brio screen ready for a new query.
To run an existing Brio,
click on the Open folder icon
or
click on File in the drop-down menu and then on Open…
Find the Brio you want.
