How Do I Resize My Spinup Server?
Spinup makes it easy to scale your server up or down as your needs change. You can increase or decrease CPU and memory by resizing your server directly from the console.
⚠️ Disk size is not affected by resizing. To change disk size, see: How can I resize the disk of my Spinup server?
When to Resize
Scale up for more demanding workloads
Scale down to save costs when usage decreases
TryIT servers cannot be resized until they are converted to a paid option.
Steps to Resize a Server
Review Available Sizes
To compare sizes (vCPU, RAM), start the server creation process and review the Select Size page. You won’t have to complete the process.
Navigate to the Server
In your Space, click on the server you wish to resize.
Shut Down the Server
Click the Shut Down button in the server detail panel.
Servers must be powered off to resize.
Click Resize
Once shut down, the Resize Server button will be enabled.
Click Resize Server, choose a new size, and confirm.
Power the Server Back On
After resizing, a green success banner will appear. You can now click Start Server to power it back on.
Notes
Resizing affects only CPU and RAM.
Disk size remains the same (see related article below for disk changes).
Resize operations are typically fast and do not affect data stored on the server.
