Enabling HP ALM with "unsupported" browsers
HP Application Lifecycle Management 11.52.341 claims to be incompatible with with version of IE later than 10.
The reality is that it simply doesn't recognize the value of the browser's "UserAgent".
To get the application work, you have to impersonate an earlier version of IE, and this is done using the "Emulation" function in the "Developer Tools".
Select
Tools from the Menu Bar, and select
F12 Developer Tools from the drop-down.
Find
and click
the Emulation icon on the left, then choose
"Internet Explorer 10" from the drop-down for User agent string.
There are ways to force HP ALM to function with other browsers too, but that's not covered here.
Connecting through ES_DC when using RDP
Although you cannot connect directly to ES_DC from an off-site system, nor from an on-site system while RDP'd into it, you can connect to ES_DC from a VM.
Simply install the Cisco VPN AnyConnect client within your VM and connect as you would from a physical machine.
As with any connection to a secured environment, only use the connection as needed. Do not set AnyConnect within a VM to establish a VPN without being logged in nor to automatically connect the VPN when Windows starts.
