How can I add (EBS) disks to my Spinup server?
Problem
I need to attach an additional disk to my server
Solution
You can add multiple EBS disks of custom size (ranging from 1 GB to 10 TB) by clicking "Add disk" in the "Disks" panel of your server page. Please note that additional disks are not supported for TryIT servers.
After the new disk shows up in the list of disks you'll need to format it and mount it from your server's OS. For specific instructions you can see the AWS documentation.
- For Linux servers - https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ebs-using-volumes.html
- Note that we strongly recommend using the "nofail" option in /etc/fstab as shown above; this will prevent your server from not booting if the volume can't mount. Additionally, using the volume UUID instead of the device path in /etc/fstab will make sure your disks continue to mount, even if your server changes to a type with higher speed disks, which have a different device naming scheme.
