IT to University Alignment

Name

IT to University Alignment

Statement

Information management decisions are always made to maximize the benefit to the University as a whole.

RationaleDecisions aligned to the priorities of the University ensure greater long-term value than those aligned to other interests. The interests of a single area must not supersede the benefit to the University. This principle, however, should not prevent anyone from performing tasks and activities.
Implications

University departments and ITS will utilize a governance approach to align IT investments to the priorities of the University. ITS service teams will regularly develop plans to effectively evolve service capabilities to support the University's changing priorities over time. ITS operational governance will provide oversight to support University alignment from deployment to operations.
