Adding Resolution to Workflows

Workflows do not update the resolution field by default. If updates to resolutions are not defined in workflows then the native Jira filters such as 'Open issues' and 'Done issues' will be inaccurate as Jira base these filters off the resolution.

Here are step by step instructions on how to add resolution updates to workflows.

Resolution fields are updated during a transition. By default a transition will have 5 post functions. This is the easiest way to tell if a resolution function needs to be added.

1. Click on the transition and then click on Post Functions

2. New screen will pop out. Now click on 'Add post function'

3. Select 'Update Issue Field'

4. Select 'Resolution' for Issue Field dropdown and then the appropriate resolution field value

5. Press Add and then Publish Draft to complete changes.
