Forgot Password - Security Questions & Password

UX Comments

Earlier in development, it was asked to keep this screen to include security questions and the user's new password. UX recommended separating these two functions to still have all the password hints previously written in the Change Password function in NetID Management.

Security Questions

  • The user is prompted to answer 2 of their 5 security questions.

New NetID Password

  • The user needs to type in their desired password in both fields.
  • There is a Password Strength indicator below that allows the user to get feedback on how well they are creating their password.
    • The indicator goes off a 0-4 scale provided by Microsoft
    • The user needs to get a 3 or 4 to get a secure password (visually indicated by the bar 75% through the bar)
    • The scale goes from weak (0-2), good (3), and strong (4)

Forgot Password - Security Questions & Password Error

UX Comments
  • Per the Yale Accessibility requirements, the text fields will indicate that an error has occurred.
    • Red Outline
    • Red asterisk
    • Red background for error message & error icon

Forgot Password - Password Changed

UX Comments
  • This is the confirmation screen to confirm that their password has been changed.
  • The user will get an email confirmation sent to their personal/recovery email.
  • This screen is the same visually in the Change NetID Password flow.

  • No labels
