Problem

Info
Restoring a snapshot lets you restore the state of your server's disk to a previous state. This can be useful if a configuration gets accidentally corrupted or a file is inadvertently deleted. Snapshots are automatically created nightly (the last 14 are available), and can also be created on-demand.

Solution

  1. Determine which disk you need to restore. Remember that snapshots are per-disk, so you need to make sure the file/configuration you wish to restore to is on the disk in question. If you only have one disk, then this is easy!
  2. Your server will need to be shut down before you restore snapshots. Do this with the "Shut down" button on the right-hand side of the server details page.
  3. Once the server state has changed to Stopped, click the Restore button (circled) next to the disk you wish to restore.
  4. Use the descriptions and dates to determine which snapshot you want to restore to and click the blue restore button next to it. Make sure to click the confirmation Restore button. "CPM" snapshots are those automatically created every night.

Should you want to delete an existing snapshot you can do it here as well, using the red trash can button.

  5. Wait until the spinner next to the disk goes away, then power back on your server.

Info
When you restore to a snapshot, another snapshot will automatically be created of your current state, so you can "go back" should you decide the restore was not wanted.
