Normally, however, when Linux boots it starts up in the background dozens of services and deamons daemons that provide client and server functions for shared files, network login, Web applications, Docker containers, snap packages, and so on. WSL 2 would support this, but the version of Ubuntu that you can download today to run in WSL 2 comes with the support for services (systemd) turned off. You can find instructions to turn it on, but not cleanly and reliably.
